You Got Games: Learn to Lead Icebreakers

In this high energy, completely interactive program, you’ll learn to lead icebreakers that will add energy and life to your meetings, retreats, workshops and/or presentations. You’ll discover techniques to encourage participants to step out of their comfort zones, have fun, and create a lively and connected community. We’ll discuss the subtleties of getting people to ‘buy in’ to your activities while letting go of their inhibitions and fully immersing themselves in the moment.

The purpose of the program is for participants to actively engage in icebreakers and teambuilding games so they might learn new activities to take back to their world. This information will be useful for and applicable to their next meeting, training, retreat or anytime they speak to a group.

The agenda of the program is very straightforward. It’s all interactive. We start with lower gradient activities that mostly involve meeting other people, interacting in small groups, and low-level movement. As the program progresses and the participants become more comfortable with each other, we move into higher gradient activities. These involve more movement, or a higher level of interaction, or closer proximity, or more personal sharing.

The activities never go further than what the participants are comfortable with; since the name, style, and type of activities will vary depending upon the level of participation of the workshop attendees, I will not include a list of activities here. Because of my depth of experience presenting this program, I evaluate each workshop session and present activities based on the needs of the participants.

Program Format:

  • Workshop or Breakout Session (60 min. to 4 hrs)
  • As part of Customized Retreat or Training (60 min. – 3 days)
